Garden Cocktails with Colleen Mullaney

This week, there’s a new addition to the BloomTV Expert team! Colleen Mullaney, a professional designer, lifestyle expert, and author has just begun a new series on BloomTV in which she will be sharing how to make fun and floral garden inspired cocktails. The first episode is out now! Be sure to head over and check it out, and subscribe to our newsletter to stay updated on all new, exciting content in the future!

Colleen is known for cocktail recipes that are as fun, unique, and witty as they are delicious. Her most recent book, Gin Austen, includes recipes for cocktails inspired by some of Jane Austen’s most famous and beloved characters. Her other recipes include cocktails for style and glamor, cocktails from around the world, and so much more! Her new series will bring us that iconic, creative spin and expertise on the best cocktails inspired by all things floral and garden.

In her first video, learn how to make five delicious summer spritzes with flavors pulled straight from your garden– perfect to enjoy on the patio with friends, before dinner with family, or whenever you want a refreshing treat to sip on in the sunshine! This week’s recipes include the Aperol Spritz, Nectarine Spritz, Raspberry Elderflower Spritz, and the Blackberry Hibiscus Tea Spritz. With such a wide flavor profile, be sure to try your hand at making them all– perhaps you’ll find a new signature drink to serve with guests or enjoy on your own!

Something special about Colleen’s recipes is that she goes beyond simply teaching you how to make each drink. For iconic cocktails such as the Aperol Spritz, she shares the background of where the drink first became popular– in this case, Northern Italy! Colleen also keeps you informed on why each ingredient pairs with certain liquors and types of wine – the best based on complementary flavor profiles, body, and aroma. These little facts are the perfect way to impress any party guests! You’ll be able to serve beautifully flavorful cocktails and wow your friends with your drink-making knowledge.

With so much experience in cocktail making, Colleen has plenty of quick tips and secrets that will take your mixing skill to the next level. Her first video provides an incredible tip on how to use herbs in your cocktails, plus how to make their flavors and aromas properly activate! As she demonstrates with a basil leaf, giving the herbs a rub between your fingers can really help release all of that gorgeous fragrance. Plus, the pop of green looks super-stylish in any Spritz! Another fantastic tip from Colleen is a lovely way to dress up any fruity cocktails; fruit filled ice cubes! She provides the technique on how to create this fun addition and how you can recreate it at home. These tricks will make your final result not only delicious, but aesthetically pleasing as well.

With plenty more recipes, tips, and tricks in store, you won’t want to miss this Garden Cocktail series on BloomTV! Be sure to check out the first episode now!
